Anchorage October 23, 2006 Republican Candidate for
Governor Sarah Palin has earned the endorsement of the North Pacific
Fisheries Association of Homer. The NPFA was founded in 1955 and is
made up of professional fishermen who fish in all areas of the state
and live in Homer. They are longliners in the halibut and sablefish
fisheries from Ketchikan to Adak, salmon and herring fishermen from
Sitka to Togiak, and groundfish and crab harvesters in the Gulf and
Bering Sea.
It means a lot to me to have another endorsement from a group of
Alaska fishermen, said Palin. The NPFA is a family oriented group
made up of small boat fisherman and thats something I can relate to.
Palin and her family have been commercial fishing in Bristol Bay for
many years. She has been endorsed by several fishing groups since
announcing her bid for Governor.
