and that number is expected to grow to 330,000 households by 2010. (The Next
Decade of Housing in Minnesota, BBC Research and Consulting, 2003.) Progress must start now to address this rapidly growing affordable housing crisis.
The Housing Solutions Act would add a small surcharge to the existing deed tax to
generate revenue for much-needed low-income housing assistance. This surcharge will
triple Minnesotas existing funding which creates housing opportunities for thousands of
