Additional Information and
Resources
Registration
TELPAS online courses are
available this spring on the TELPAS TrainingCenter.
The TrainingCenter uses Learning
Management System (LMS) software that will allow us to:
Track course
completion and qualification history
Report training
history at the campus, district, and state levels
Gather information
on components of the training to determine what works well and what
might be improved
Registration
District Testing Coordinators
will be automatically registered by Pearson (using Pearson00 most
current contact information).
A user name and password will
be sent to DTCs by Pearson via email.
Registration
All individuals who participated
in online training last year through the old LMS are automatically migrated
to the new system.
These individuals may use
the user ID and password they established last year.
Registration
Users who trained using ONLY
the alternative training site last year (which did not require
a user ID and password) will receive a user name and password in two
separate e-mails. One will contain their user name, the other their
password. The separate e-mails are a security precaution.
Users will be prompted to
change their password when they log in.
Registration
All new users (minus DTCs)
will register themselves, creating their own login information.
Individuals who will need
access to the reports features of the LMS (DTCs, CTCs, DTC assistants)
need to register and be approved by the DTC to gain access to that component
of the LMS.
Registration
Prior to registering, each
rater needs to know which course to take and which cluster (if 2-12)
to practice on.
All new users will need the
site code. Users who already have a username and password will not need
the site code.
DTCs will
receive the site code in a broadcast email from Pearson.
The site code
is only needed one time.

Spring 2008 Training
On November 20, TELPAS trainers
across the state received an email containing guidance for conducting
spring training.
In the spring, all raters
(both previously trained and/or qualified as well as newly identified)
must individually complete the appropriate online course.
Spring 2008 Training
Individual course completion
this spring allows:
Raters to
get good rating practice in all applicable domains
District administrators
to track training completion and progress of all raters in the district

Training Course vs Refresher
Course
The level 1 courses have the
word 00raining00in the name. They are very complete courses.
In addition to an introductory overview module, there are modules for
each domain that teach raters to read the appropriate PLDs and provide
rating examples and practice.
Training Course vs Refresher
Course
The level 2 courses have the
word 00efresher00in the name. They assume that users know
what TELPAS is and how to use the PLDs. They only provide rating
practice in each domain. Individuals who use this course are welcome
to refer back to the level 1 course as a resource if needed.
