TINTO ALUMINIUM

HOW REMUNERATION WORKS
Your total remuneration is made up of the
following components.
Base salary
Salaries are paid on a monthly basis (on or near the 20th
of the month). Your base salary is reviewed annually to
ensure competitiveness and to recognise performance.
Superannuation
Rio Tinto Aluminium contributes nine per cent
superannuation to the fund chosen by each employee.
If you choose to be a member of the Rio Tinto Staff
Superannuation Fund, Rio Tinto Aluminium will pay the
administration costs of membership and the insurance
premium for 'Basic' insurance cover. Superannuation
contributions by Rio Tinto Aluminium are based on role
remuneration, which is your base salary plus applicable
allowances and incentive payments (if any).
Allowances
Where applicable, shift, area and motor vehicle
allowances are paid at the same time as monthly
salary payments.
Incentive payments
Your contract of employment will outline the details of
your Incentive Scheme. Incentive payments are based
on a number of factors, including company and personal
performance, and are paid in March of each year.
