Lexington Police Department Announces
Appointment of New Assistant Chief of Police
Green brings over ten years of experience in community-based law
enforcement the Lexington community.
Lexington, South Carolina, August 2, 2004 . The Lexington Police Department today announced the appointment of
Lieutenant Terrence Green as its new Assistant Chief of Police. A native of Georgetown, South Carolina, LT Green is
a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. As a student, LT
Green began his law enforcement career with the University of South Carolina Police Department, and joined the
Lexington Police Department in 1993. Since joining the Department, LT Green has risen through the ranks, serving as
a Patrolman, Corporal, Investigator, and currently serves as the Patrol Commander for the Department. He is also a
recent graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy for law enforcement executives. LT Green
has received many awards during his career, including the South Carolina Department of Public Safety's Palmetto
Award for traffic safety, Lexington Police Department's Officer of the Year, and the American Police Hall of Fame
Award.
LT Green is married and is the father of two children. He and his family are active members of the Brookland Baptist
Church, where he serves on the Senior Usher Ministry, and the Homeless Outreach Program. His hobbies include
spending time with his family, back yard barbecuing, and taking care of his yard.

Lexington's Mayor. "His years of experience with this department, as well as his proactive approach to law
enforcement are valued assets to this community."
