YNHH Fuji Synapse
General overview
This is a web based application that uses SSL to access the YNHH Department of Diagnostic Radiology's
Picture Archival Radiology System (PACS) to view radiology reports and images.
Account and Access
Fill out the following forms:

Complete " Network Login ID Request" section for Synapse.

YNHH CONFIDENTIALITY AND RESPONSIBILITY AGREEMENT

Hardware and OS recommendations

Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or higher.

Administrator rights on the pc to install it

128 MB of RAM (256 recommended)

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 with sp2
Installing Synapse WS module connected to the SSL server
PRELIMINARY STEPS FOR INSTALLING SYNAPSE ON WINDOWS XP WITH SP2 AND OTHER SECURITY
1. Open Internet Explorer .
2. Use the Internet Explorer tools menu. Click Tools and then Internet Options .
3. Click the Security tab (Internet should be highlighted automatically)
4. Click the Custom Level button.
NOTE: Please take note of the next couple settings as you should return them to their original settings

5. Click Enable for Download signed ActiveX controls
6. Click Enable for Download unsigned ActiveX controls

7. Click Disable for Use POP-UP Blocker
8. Click OK
9. Click Yes in the warning box and OK in the Internet Options box.
PROCEED WITH THE NORMAL SYNAPSE WORKSTATION CODE INSTALL PROCEDURE
1. Open Internet Explorer and highlight the address bar
2. Type: https://yalepacs.ynhh.org
3. Enter your username and password . The domain is YNHH .

4. If you are using Windows XP the authentication window will look different. You will need to type
the domain and username in the "User name" field: YNHH\username and then password .
5. Click OK .
6. You should now see the code download button, click on the banner once.
7. Wait for install successful message to be displayed.

Steps eight through twelve are to avoid seeing the mixed content box when viewing the power jacket.
They improve workflow by removing multiple acceptance dialog boxes.
8. Use the Internet Explorer tools menu. Click Tools and then Internet Options.
9. Click the Security Tab (Internet should be highlighted automatically)
10. Click the Custom Level button. Scroll down to Display mixed content

11. Click Enable and then OK.
12. Click Yes in the warning box and OK in the Internet Options box.
13. Close all windows including Internet Explorer. 14. Refresh your desktop by pressing the F5 key.
14. The Synapse Icon should now appear on your screen. You can now use Synapse. Double click the
Synapse Icon, provide authentication to log in like Step 3 or 4 above.
