FLORIDA AUTHOR EARNS TWICE THE ACCOLADES
Laurel, MD - April 21, 2006 -- Fernandina Beach has great reason to be proud of local author Shannon
Greenland. Spring has showered this Florida author with two highly prestigious honors. Early in the
month, the Virginia Romance Writers (a chapter of Romance Writers of America) announced LAURA'S
SECRETS, Ms. Greenland's second novel, as a finalist in their Holt Medallion contest for published
authors. One of five finalists in the Romantic Suspense category, LAURA'S SECRET has earned its
position among the highest quality novels, including works by multi-award-winning authors Roxanne St.
Claire (Pocket Books) and Annie Solomon (Warner Books).
Less than two weeks later, the results for the Oklahoma Romance Writers of America (also an RWA
chapter) announced the finalists for their highly acclaimed National Readers Choice Awards. Again
LAURA'S SECRETS graced the finalists list for Romantic Suspense.
Shannon's incredible writing skills and storytelling ability has helped bring her publisher, Echelon Press
Publishing, into the big league of romance. Both contests have this independent press book mingling
effectively with some of the top authors in the industry, including New York Times Best Selling Author
JoAnn Ross (Simon & Schuster).
Shannon Greenland, a school teacher in Florida, has found a tremendous amount of success during the
last two years. Along with the accolades for LAURA'S SECRETS, she recently signed a multi-book
contract with Penguin Group for a young reader series. She will see her third novel, DESCENT INTO
DANGER published from Echelon Press in July 2006.
Descent Into Danger (ISBN 1-59080-466-X)
Co-owner of an Outfitters in New Mexico, Madeline Theros spends her days leading kayaking,
hiking, and spelunking expeditions. It's the perfect life. Until one day a freak accident drops
her down a shaft into an uncharted cave. The dream of a lifetime?
There's only one thing standing between Corey Grainge and the vice presidency of a land
development company. All he has to do is strip-mine thousand of New Mexico acres, including
the uncharted cave. Everything happens for a reason.
Locked in a battle over the land, Madeline and Corey realize they share a history that neither
understands. And someone doesn't want them together, and will execute any means to keep
them apart.
She is currently scheduling dates and locations for her Summer 2006 Regional Author Tour.
