Position: Senior Education Associate 06-105 Division: Education Department: Higher Education Summary: The incumbent is responsible for the daily operations supporting chemistry programs at two-year colleges and new initiatives in faculty development. These activities include faculty development workshops and resources; the Guidelines for Chemistry Programs at Two-year Colleges ; the database of contacts at two-year colleges; and the two-year college web site, which includes presentations and reports on student transfer issues. The incumbent also supports adjunct faculty and technician education. Minimum Qualifications: 00College degree in chemistry or a related science or equivalent experience; may have an advanced degree or equivalent experience. 005+ years of related experience, preferably in a two-year college. 00Familiarity with student transfer issues, faculty development, and assessment is desired. Position Accountabilities: 1) Promote and develop all two-year college chemistry activities by coordinating outreach efforts, collecting and disseminating information, encouraging faculty and student use of ACS resources, and serving as a staff resource on two-year colleges and an informal liaison to the Two-Year College Chemistry Consortium. 2) Develop and coordinate professional development activities for faculty. 3) Assist with national and regional meeting programming on two-year college issues and/or faculty development. 4) Establish and maintain resources on student transfer, including data collection, workshops, and reports. 5) Coordinate the development and dissemination of career resources for two-year college students. 6) Manage the revision and dissemination of publications, such as the Guidelines for Chemistry Programs at Two-year Colleges , which is being overseen by the Society Committee on Education taskforce, and A Guide to Classroom Instruction for Adjunct Faculty , as well as the development of supporting materials and workshops. 7) Assist with technician education activities.
